UNIDEL Gets NAAT Leadership

The  University of Delta, Agbor.chapter of the National Association of Academic Technologists ( NAAT) has been inaugurated

The NAAT South- South Zonal co-ordinator, comrade Alexander Oko while performing the inauguration exercise at  the 1000 Capacity Hall, congratulated the elected officers and charged them to lay good foundation that would take the association to an enviable height.

In a paper titled ” Advancing Technical Excellence for Academic Growth, comrade Oko , who was the guest speaker, spoke on  the impact of technological advancements on academic growth, the challenges in implementation and strategies and the need  to maximize its benefits. 

He also took a cursory look at the future trends in educational technology and maintained that technology was not just a tool but a transformative force that has the potential to revolutionize education for future generations.

 He charged institutions to integrate technological excellence and create a future-ready academic environment.

Earlier on a courtesy call on the Management of the Institution, comrade Oko said NAAT played a vital role in promoting and supporting the application of technology in teaching, learning and research. 

He appealed to  Management to give necessary support to NAAT , UNIDEL Chapter especially in the areas of organizing training and workshops which would, enhance the members skills.

The Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof Patricia Mbah who received comrade Oko on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stella Chiemeke, thanked him for ensuring the birth of NAAT in UNIDEL.

She noted that technologists were well acclaimed in universities as they were the pillars who foster growth and development.

The Registrar, Barrister Richmond Omagbemi and the Librarian Dr Mrs Vera Okonoko in their seperate remarks lauded comrade Oko and the  national leadership for their commitment and contributions towards the growth of education with emphasis on technological advancement, research and innovation.

In the election conducted after the disolution of the interim executives, four members returned unopposed as pioneering officers. They were Mrs Kate Ifeanyi Maduka as chairman, Mr. Obinna Eze Vice Chairman, Mr. Daniel Ezenwali Secretary and Mrs. Juliet Onyeacholem as Treasurer.

In an interview with The UNIDEL Media, the chairman, Mrs. Kate Ifeanyi Maduka expressed gratitude to members of NAAT, UNIDEL Chapter for giving them the opportunity to serve. She said the establishment of NAAT in UNIDEL was a powerful declaration of the association’s commitment to excellence in academic technology, innovation and seamless support of teaching and research as technologists were  the backbone of practical learning
